What is visual and motion design?

Visual and Motion Design focuses on communicating ideas through strong visual execution and storytelling. Visual Design involves layout, typography, colour, imagery, and composition across digital or print media. Motion Design extends this by incorporating movement and animation to enhance narrative, engagement, and clarity. In this category, applicants are expected to create impactful visual or motion-based work that communicates a strong idea or campaign, with a clear focus on concept development and compelling visual execution. Projects may include campaign visuals, posters, motion graphics, animated content, or other visually driven outcomes.

What is experience design?

Experience Design is about designing how people interact with a brand, product, or system. It focuses on user journey, structure, usability, and interaction to ensure the experience is intuitive, accessible, and meaningful. The goal is functional clarity and effectiveness. For this category, applicants should design how people engage with the brand across digital or physical touchpoints. This may include websites, applications, exhibition, digital platforms, service systems, or any project that prioritises user flow and interaction design.

What is brand identity?

Brand Identity refers to the visual and conceptual system that defines how a brand presents itself. It includes elements such as logo design, typography, colour systems, visual language, and brand guidelines. A strong identity creates consistency, recognition, and a distinct personality across all touchpoints. In this category, applicants are encouraged to reimagine or refresh a brand’s identity system. This may involve developing a new logo, defining visual direction, designing packaging, or building a cohesive brand presence that clearly communicates the brand’s positioning.
