Illustration
( Indentity system )
overview
Our illustrations combine geometric elements with structured compositions to create clarity and visual hierarchy. Colours from the Support Colours palette are applied selectively to emphasize focal points. The overall look is clean and precise, subtly balanced with an organic touch through textured gradients.
Read below for detailed guidelines.

coloured element
with texture
Apply color to the focal element(s) using the Support Colours palette, either partially or as the main scheme. For the inner texture, use the GrainShader Procreate brush to paint around the element's corners or edges.

Geometric shapes
Include geometric elements, either as the main or decorative graphics (e.g. line, dash, circle, rectangle). You can play with opacity to enhance hierarchy.

Text elements
You may include text if appropriate, either as a main or decorative graphic (e.g. coordinates, messages). Use Geist Mono as the only font for illustrations.

If the article is featured on the homepage, the section will appear with a solid black background. To maintain contrast, do not use a black background, use Dark Grey (#252525) instead.

Misuses
To keep the illustrations consistent, do not:
Interpret illustrations with a cartoonish or exaggerated style.
Apply more than two main colors, selected from the GL Support Colors palette. Limit textures, brush strokes, or patterns to a maximum of two.
Apply dramatic perspective, lighting, blur or shadow effects.
Use doodle styles or brush strokes as primary design elements.
Use fully detailed human figures or isolated human parts.
